FAQ
Will my phone scan the QR code automatically?
Most modern phones recognize a WiFi QR code from the native camera app. iOS 11 and later, and Android 10 and later, will prompt you to join the network as soon as the code is recognized. Older devices may need a third-party scanner app.
Is it safe to share a WiFi QR code publicly?
A WiFi QR code encodes your password in plain text, so treat it like a password. Only share it with people you would give the password to directly. Anyone with the QR code can read the network password.
Why is there a "Hidden network" option?
Some routers do not broadcast the SSID. Phones need an extra hint to know which network to join, so the WIFI: format includes an H:true flag. Only enable it for networks that are actually hidden.
Can I use this for an open network without a password?
Yes. Leave the password field empty and choose "None" as the security type. The generated QR code will only contain the network name and the security flag.
What is the difference between PNG and SVG?
PNG is a raster image that looks great at its export size. SVG is a vector format that stays sharp at any size, which is ideal for printing on stickers, posters, or menus. Both are generated locally in your browser.
