About vCard QR Generator
Overview
The vCard QR Generator turns your contact details into a scannable QR code that phones and contact apps can read directly. Fill in the form on the left, and the QR code on the right updates as you type. The generated code embeds a standards-compliant vCard 3.0 string, so most modern phones will offer to create a new contact with one tap. FAQ
Will the vCard QR code work with my phone?
Yes. iOS and Android both recognize vCard QR codes natively. When you scan the code with your camera or a QR app, the phone will offer to create a new contact with all the details pre-filled. Most modern QR scanners support this format out of the box.
What is the difference between error correction levels?
Error correction lets the QR code still scan even if part of it is damaged, dirty, or covered. Low (L) recovers about 7% of data, Medium (M) about 15%, Quartile (Q) about 25%, and High (H) about 30%. Use High when printing on textured surfaces or when the code may be scratched or stained over time.
Is my contact data safe?
Yes. All processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted to any server. You can verify this by opening the tool with your network disconnected; it works the same way. Your contact information stays on your device.
Can I include multiple phone numbers or emails?
This tool supports one phone number and one email per vCard. vCard 3.0 does allow multiple values, but supporting a single canonical contact is what most scanners handle best and produces smaller, more reliable QR codes. For richer cards, use the general QR Code Generator with a custom vCard string.
Which file format should I download?
Use PNG for digital use (email signatures, websites, presentations) since it works everywhere. Use SVG for printing because it scales to any size without losing sharpness, making it ideal for business cards, posters, and stickers. Both formats are produced from the same QR code, so they scan identically.
